In light of the multitude of Anora Oscar wins, healthcare for sex workers is often overlooked. Annie - Anora’s lead, makes it a point that she does not receive health care working for the club. A UNFPA report found that 1 in 4 sex workers have been denied healthcare because of their occupation, and more than 60% distrust and fear healthcare providers. Organizations like Coin Clinic @callenlorde provide free healthcare for sex workers in an affirming and supportive environment. The team behind OUR FATHER fights for these discriminatory barriers to be removed in addition to the stigmas place upon the sex worker community. Healthcare is a right, not a privilege!
